Storm roll to 7-0 Game 2 win in VIJHL playoff

The Campbell River Storm took a stranglehold on their VIJHL playoff series by pounding the Peninsula Panthers 7-0 last night in Game 2 of their first round playoff.

The Campbell River Storm took a stranglehold on their VIJHL playoff series by pounding the Peninsula Panthers 7-0 last night in Game 2 of their first round playoff.

At the Rod Brind’Amour Arena, the Storm got two goals each from Kyle Kaufmann and Dawson Frank and singles from Brett Kinley, Jalen Price and Dylan McCann. Goalie Liam Murphy got the shutout on the strength of an 18-save performance.

Kaufmann was named Home Star of the game and the Panthers’ Shota Yamamoto was the Away Star of the game.

The Storm now lead the series 2-0. Game three goes 1 p.m. Sunday at Panorama Recreation Centre in North Saanich. Game 4 is Monday at Panorama.
