The Campbell River estuary was the site of this year’s Race the River dragon boat races that saw nine women’s teams and eight mixed teams compete.
The top women’s team was the Tri-Port Warriors with Campbell River’s River Spirit taking bronze. Mixed was won by Port Hardy’s Nax’max’sala. A traditional part of the regatta was the Carnation Ceremony (centre photo) to remember those lost to cancer but also to show support for those currently battling the disease.
