The sun was shining on Monday for the Campbell River Salmon Kings as they made their march to Centennial outdoor pool.
The Salmon Kings, at 53 years, are one of the longest running sports clubs in the city and are the original tenant at Centennial Pool.
“Today was a great day,” said association president Dean Dobrinsky. “From not even knowing if we were going to have a pool three years ago to starting early this year is amazing. It was fantastic news for all youth, when the city committed to the funding to keep this facility viable into the future.”
This year the team is being led by head coach Taylor Padington who’s swimming for Boise State University. She will be assisted by coaches Olivia Carter and Kiersten Padington. For more information, visit campbellriversalmonkings.ca
