Judo team tops the podium

Members of the Campbell River Judo Club took the team trophy at the Mill Bay tournament

The Campbell River Judo club took the team medal at the Mill Bay Shidokai tournament last Saturday.

Joshua Lee and Tommy Pfiefer were perfect, winning all of their matches, while Abby Sheehan and Grady Allingham had the highest scores in their divisions. All four captured gold.

Lee’s efforts were particularly outstanding as he totally dominated all four of his opponents.

A silver medal went to Kristian McFarlan in his first competition. Brody Warner and Jake Misky also earned silver. Bronze medals were won by Marcus Petersen, Luke Penhall, Linden Hicks, Jacob Hicks, Olivia Sheehan and Jordann Warner.

On the basis of medal count, Campbell River was deemed the top club and earned the team trophy. Other participating clubs included Victoria, Collwood, Nanaimo and Mill Bay.
