Herb Bradley Challenge supports students with special needs

The challenge is a major fundraiser for the Society for Adaptive Snowsports

The Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports (VISAS) hosted another successful Learn to Ski/Snowboard Festival earlier this month at Mount Washington.

Participants with physical and mental challenges received instruction in alpine and Nordic skiing, and snowboarding.

It wouldn’t be possible without the community’s support at the Herb Bradley Pepsi Challenge, scheduled for Feb. 10 which “is VISAS’s major fundraiser for the year, and provides the dollars to run our Winter Sports Festival, and upgrade our adaptive ski and snowboard equipment,” said Brian Lees, co-organizer of the 2013 HBPC.

There’s still time to register a team for the 2013 Herb Bradley Pepsi Challenge (HBPC).

The entry fee is $300 and includes lift tickets for the day and lunch, and charitable donations are welcomed.
