A prestigious award was given to a senior skater from the Campbell River Skating Club.
Andrea Beattie was awarded the Skate Canada BC/YT Section STARSkate Athlete Award this May.
Recipients of this award have displayed passion for the sport and have achieved success throughout the season, not only within the STARSkate testing system but also with personal skill development and growth.
Beattie has been skating since she was very young under the direction of her coach Rae Anne Hesketh. Her passion for this sport is second to none and has given back to the CRSC by volunteering for their Learn to Skate programs as a Program Assistant for the past five years and also has been involved in numerous fundraisers to help skaters continue to skate.
Beattie is a role model for all skaters as she works hard every day not because she has to, but because she wants to embrace skating to the fullest.
