Nolan Young catches a high ball for his B.C. U14 White Team in a match against Alberta at Rugby Canada’s National Championships held last weekend in Calgary.

Campbell River’s finest rugby athletes came home with some hardware from Rugby Canada’s National Championships Festival held in Calgary Aug. 6-11.

Both Jackson Locker and Georgia Bellamy fought hard in the front row for their respective B.C. U18 squads to overpower perennial rivals Ontario en route to gold medals.

Campbell River’s Nolan Young started as fullback on his B.C. U14 White team, finishing second only to the other B.C. U14 Gold on the final day.

Meanwhile, the Campbell River Athletic Association welcomes all returning and new youth players back for regular season play this fall.

At the same time, the association sends well wishes to Jackson Locker as he heads off to the University of British Columbia in Vancouver to study Forestry and participate on the Thunderbirds Men’s Rugby Squad that compete in the Canadian Inter-University Sport (CIS) Canada West Conference.

New players are needed to fill all age groups within the Campbell River Athletic Association.
