Campbell River gymnasts win in Victoria

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association (CRGA) sent a group of girls to the annual Garden City competition held in Victoria May 20-21.

The Campbell River Gymnastics Association (CRGA) sent a group of girls to the annual Garden City competition held in Victoria May 20-21.

The athletes had a strong showing with highlights including Shea Bridgen topping her division and winning the JO Level 6 2005-2007 division by almost a full point, including winning the gold medals on both bars and vault and receiving the silver medal on floor.

Hannah Sommer had a great performance moving up into JO Level 8 where she came home with a second place All Around finish and captured the silver medal on the vault. Sommer added many new skills to her routines including a yurochenko tuck on the vault, a back tuck on the beam, a pirouette on the bars, a front full on the floor and a back layout half twist punch front tuck. Jordan Loock also moved up to level 8, competing a back layout one and a half twist and a whip to back tuck on the floor for the first time, as well as a back tuck on the beam, a pirouette on the bars and a yurochenko tuck on the vault. Ksenia Stansell had a solid bar routine, winning the gold medal in the JO Level 8 division while Tyza Skuse captured the bronze medal with her floor routine in the JO Level 7 2004-2007 division. Great performances for all. The following is all the CRGA results.

JO Level 8 all ages

Hannah Sommer: captured the silver medal on vault, placed 4th on bars, beam and floor to come home with the silver medal in the All Around.

Ksenia Stansell: won the gold medal on bars, took the 5th place ribbon on vault, finished 9th on floor and 10th on beam to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

Jordan Loock: captured the 7th place ribbon on bars, placed 8th on vault and beam, finished 10th on the floor to come home in 8th place in the All Around.

JO Level 7 2004-2007

Tyza Skuse: won the bronze medal on floor, took the 4th place ribbon on bars, finished 10th on vault and 11th on beam to come home in 6th place in the All Around.

JO Level 6 2005-2007

Shea Bridgen: captured the gold medals on vault and bars, won the silver medal on floor, placed 4th on the beam to come home as the All Around Champion.

Ava Lee: took the 8th place ribbon on vault, finished 10th on bars, beam and floor to come home in 10th place in the All Around.

JO Level 6 04

Cailey Goddyn: won 5th place on bars, took 6th on beam, finished 7th on vault and placed 10th on floor to come in 4th in the All Around.

Isabella Michael: finished 4th on bars, took a 5th place ribbon on vault, finished 6th on floor and 12th on beam to come in 7th in the All Around

Claire Pollock: won the Bronze on both vault and floor and placed 10th on both bars and beam, landing her in 9th place in the All Around.

JO Level 5 all ages

Makena Movold: won the 7th place ribbon on vault, placed 11th on bars, finished 13th on floor and 14th on the beam to come home in 12th place in the All Around.

Rayne Loock: took 12th place on the beam, finished 15th on vault, bars and floor to come home in 13th place in the All Around.

Kaitlynn Bealieau: placed 12th on the bars, took 14th on both vault and floor, finished 15th on the beam to come home in 14th place in the All Around.

JO Level 4 2004-2006

Michaela Pontious: captured the 6th place ribbon on the vault, placed 13th on the floor, finished 14th on both bars and beam to come home in 14th place in the All Around.

JO Level 4 2007-2009

Ayla Wheatley: won the 7th place ribbon on vault, took the 8th place ribbon on bars, finished 11th on floor and 13th on the beam to come home in 10th place in the All Around.

Rianna Dill: won the 9th place ribbon on the vault, took 11th on the beam, finished 14th on both bars and floor to come home in 13th place in the All Around.

Alexis Reise: won the 9th place ribbon on beam, took 12th on the floor, finished 13th on bars and 14th on the vault to come home in 14th place in the All Around.

Grace Lelliot: took 15 place on vault and bars, finished 15th on beam and floor to come home in 15th place in the All Around.

JO Level 3 04-06

Sierra Goddyn: captured the silver medal on vault, took the 9th place ribbon on floor, finished 10th on bars and 11th on beam to come home in 7th place in the All Around.

Shyanne Johnson: won the 4th place ribbon on bars, took the 8th place ribbon on floor, finished 10th on beam and 14th on vault to come home in 9th place in the All Around.

Breianna Collie: captured 6th place ribbons on both vault and floor, placed 10th on the bars, finished 16 on beam to come home in 11th place in the All Around.

JO Level 3 07-08

Ava Levins: won the 7th place ribbon on vault, took the 10th place ribbon on bars, finished 13th on beam and 13th on the floor to come home in 14th place in the All Around.
