The 2013 Waterski Provincials were held at McIvor Lake July 27-28 and featured some of the best in the sport.

A few internationally ranked competitors made the trek up to the lake, including National Team member Jed Leach from Shawnigan Lake.

The Campbell River Eagles Waterski Club hosted the provincials which attracted 50 competitors – most from the Island but some from as far away as William’s Lake.

Competitors tackled the classic three event skiing which includes slalom, trick and jump events.

 

Results for Campbell River competitors:

 

Trent Perras (10-years-old) – fifth in slalom (one ball), third in jump (6.9 metres), fourth in trick (200 points), and fourth overall.

Tyler Jochimski (10) – third in slalom (four balls).

Jared Perras (12) – seventh in slalom (38 balls), fifth in trick (190 points), fourth in jump (16.5 metres), and fourth overall.

Carrissa Jochimski (13) – second in slalom (four balls).

Madison Oke (13) – third in slalom (three balls).

Logan Frame (15) – fifth in slalom (two balls).

Clint Baikie – first in trick (350 points).

Kim Brown – second in trick (860 points).

Ken Watkin – third in slalom (37 balls).

Cliff Cyr – fourth in slalom (3.5 balls).

Chris Jochimski – second in slalom (40 balls).

Troy Perras – second in trick (480 points).

Michael Gorman – first in slalom (one ball).
