Campbell River athletes medal at BC Winter Games

Leading the way are gymnast Kyra Boulding with three medals while Teal Harle won two in freestyle skiing

Campbell River athletes were in the medals at the BC Winter Games in Vernon.

Gymnast Kyra Boulding earned a sliver and two bronze medals – silver in the girls vault and bronze in the girls all around and girls balance beam.

Campbell River skiers also did well. In cross country, Avalon Wasteneys won silver in the juvenile girls individual 400 metre sprint and placed fourth in the juvenile girls five km. individual start.

On the slopes, Teal Harle won silver in the freestyle skiing male juvenile moguls and bronze in the freestyle skiing male juvenile combined. He also placed fourth in the frestyle juvenile male big air and juvenile male moguls.

“It was a great run today but I’m pretty disappointed in crossing the centre line after my second jump. I’m still very proud of my Silver Medal,” Harle said.

Finishing just out of the medals in fourth place were Quinn Kuschel-Ross in the gymnastics boys floor exercise (Kuschel-Ross also placed fifth in the pommel horse and fifth in the horizontal bars) and Nathan Chow in the boys rings (he also placed fith in the boys all around and sixth in the horizontal bars).

Finishing out the Campbell River results were Liam Deagle who placed seventh in the gymnastics boys floor exercise and 20th in the boy all around; Jared Perras finished 29th in the male Ski Cross.
