BC Lions to attend Eagles football camp

BC Lions players Sean Ortiz and Jesse Newman will attend the Campbell River Eagles football camp on May 5 and 6

BC Lions players Sean Ortiz and Jesse Newman will attend the Campbell River Eagles football camp on Sat., May 5 and Sun., May 6 at the Sportsplex.

Joining them will be six players and a coach from the Canadian Champion Nanaimo Raiders Jr. Football.

This is a football skills camp to teach players the skills needed to become better players and for first-time players to gain some experience should they choose to play in the fall season.

The Campbell River Eagles Youth football is having an extra suit up on Sun., April 29 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. for players who wish to sign up and do not have equipment ready.

The cost of the camp is $50 and that is with equipment supplied. It will be held at the Willow Mini Storage on Willow Street across from the Chevron Gas station. We would like to invite any boys or girls ages 8 to 18 interested in trying football or any players from out of town, to attend and enjoy the camp with some very good instruction. A lunch will be provided.

Parents need not worry.

Younger, smaller players will not practice against the older, larger players.

The BC Lions will hold an autograph signing, meet and greet at the  Campbell River Dairy Queen Sat., May 5 from 4 - 6 p.m. after the first day of the camp.
