Another Mascia to B.C. Fitness Championships

Kaylee joins her sister in competing at provincial level

Over the past eight months, athlete Kaylee Mascia from West Coast Muscle and Fitness has been training and competing at various fitness shows and winning titles. Mascia has competed in bikini, fitness, and just did her first figure show at the Sandra Wickham Fall Classic in Vancouver on Nov. 8. The event claims to be one of the biggest shows in B.C., and Mascia took fourth place, qualifying her for the B.C. Championships.

Mascia has a two year pass to the BC Championships and will compete in figure again in June 2017.

She’ll be joining her sister Kirsty as a provincially recognized athlete. Kaylee and Kirsty competed in the fitness division last June at the BC Championships, taking first and second place, respectively.

They will now compete in the national finals in either Halifax or Toronto in the summer of 2015.

The fitness division consists of a posing round and a dance routine demonstrating strength, endurance and flexibility. Both sisters are prepping for nationals, lifting weights six days a week and taking gymnastics twice a week.

If either of the Mascia sisters place in the top-three at a national level, they will move on to compete at the IFBB World Championships.
