Timing may relate to poor turnouts

Low turnout at Hospital meetings may be because of when they're held

I read with interest Mike Davies’ December 17 article re: North Island Hospitals Project consultations.

Perhaps the poor attendance isn’t so much due to lack of interest but rather the timing of these events.

Of those I’ve seen advertised, they’re always held in the evening.

I would love to attend an information session, however, as a senior, I don’t like to drive at night any more, particularly at this time of year when it’s dark so early.

If there was an opportunity to attend a morning or afternoon event, I suspect the turn-out might better reflect the community’s interest.

Why not try it once and see?
