Those washrooms are really disgusting

Big box stores in Campbell River should invest in keeping their washroom facilities tidy

I am in a certain Big Box grocery store almost daily. I have to comment on the public washrooms.

To say that they are disgusting is an understatement. I cannot tell you the number of times that I have gone into this bathroom, just to turn around and walk out. I wouldn’t send a farm animal into those kinds of conditions.

The bathrooms are not checked and maintained on a regular basis. Numerous times I have experienced feces on the walls and toilets, urine on the floors, and bloody tampons in the dispenser beside the toilet for hours!

There is always a shortage of toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer and paper towels and overflowing garbage bins. I don’t know if this is due to understaffing, or if the staff responsible for this is just not doing their job.

I feel that it is a terrible reflection on your store. This is a major health and safety hazard for your valued customers. I think that we deserve a little better than this.

Instead of spending thousands on re-arranging your store, you should invest some money into your public washrooms. A coat of paint every few months will not suffice.

In saying this, I do understand that it is the deranged few that mistreat this washroom, and it is not your staff’s fault that some are sick enough to deface the walls with feces. It still needs to be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis.

To the people who are responsible for the misuse of the bathrooms,

you should be ashamed of yourselves. I would use the old quote my father used to ask: Were you raised in a barn?

Do you smear feces on your walls at home? Do you urinate on your floors? I will never understand what could possibly be going through a person’s head when they are smearing the walls with their own feces.

Call me crazy, but I just don’t understand. These public washrooms are a courtesy to you and thousands of other people. Children and the elderly use these bathrooms.

If you are incapable of something as simple as using a public washroom properly, then you shouldn’t be out in public unsupervised. If defacing washrooms with bodily fluids is something you like to do, please do us all a favour and keep it to the confines of your own home where we don?t have to deal with it.
