Taxed to death in Campbell River

Had I known how fast the Frivolous Four were going to increase my taxes, I would have given them city hall’s bank account number

When I applied for my CPP ,there was a space that asked if I wanted them to send the money by mail or direct deposit.

Had I known how fast the Frivolous Four were going to increase my taxes, I would have given them city hall’s bank account number. It would have saved me a lot of paperwork. I can’t believe that there seems to be no end to the increases and spending. They cry poverty but they still managed to find approximately $700,000 for waterfront properties last year. If you own a storage lot or are a lawyer, 17.5 per cent  in two years isn’t much, you just add it onto your customer’s bill. But when you are on a fixed income there is no way to recoup this loss. The mayor says he would like to cut a total of $664,000 if he had his way – if this is possible why isn’t it being done?

I only have a grade 9 education but I am sure I would be over qualified to work at city hall. I have operated my own small businesses all my life. Had I run them the way city hall does, I would have gone broke in the first few years. You cannot spend more than you take in and you have to watch where and how you spend what you do have.

They are also talking about building a new fancy library. When is the last time you saw a door to door salesman selling encyclopedia? I am sorry but books will be a thing of the past in a few years – everything is on the computer.

When the economy picks up and our house prices increase can you just imagine what our taxes will be? Maybe it’s time to think about a tax revolt!
