It’s a puzzling thing to see the Trevena and the NDP attacking Tuesday’s throne speech when they have no plan, policies or positive vision to offer as an alternative.
Saying they’d spend more on each issue is not a solution. Premier Christy Clark is doing what we elected her to do: work on building a strong economy and keep government spending controlled and focused on what really matters.
The NDP was rejected by B.C. voters for a reason. They just haven’t woken up to it yet. While the BC Liberals are working on getting to yes for job-creating resource projects, the NDP always seems more comfortable saying no. That just doesn’t cut it as we try to move B.C. forward and create well-paying jobs in our communities.
It’s pretty clear the NDP don’t have a plan to move B.C. in the right direction; actually delaying progress to shape their own political story-lines. It would sure be nice if they’d do something constructive and support the key elements of the B.C. Liberal plan for a strong economy: natural resource development, skills training, keeping taxes low and reducing red tape. All of B.C., including the North Island would benefit from their MLA’s working at growing economy, and helping get to yes, rather than sticking to partisan tactics, despite being three years out of an election.
