Gross violation of our fundamental rights as citizens of this city: Letter

Well as residents of the Shady Maple Trailer Park I am appalled at the gross disregard for neighbors.

Last night (Nov. 15) was another horrible night for us. The noise we noticed at 10:30 p.m. as we were about to go to bed. First it was yelling. Then a truck sped away making a very loud noise with its motor. Shortly afterwards came a car with loud boom box music thumping and thumping.

This continued through to 11:30 where I phoned police. The police were kind and helpful and sent out a car to investigate. The thumping sounds stopped for a while then resumed about an our later. In the meantime that car with the thumping noise continued to race up and down Homewood blaring its noise then quickly shutting it off after pulling into the camp.

We did get a reprieve and were able to sleep until 5 a.m. when that vehicle started up again with its thumping noise and continued until 7 a.m. when we began to hear the large commercial vehicles from C&L.

I don’t know about you but I do treasure my sleep and the normal quiet most neighborhoods experience when everyone else is sleeping. To be continually woken up and deprived of sleep is a gross violation of our fundamental rights as citizens of this city.

Please remove these inconsiderate individuals from the protected park and give us our peace and quiet back.
