Clark follows Campbell’s lead

Did I hear it correctly? A few days ago, Christy Clark looked into the CBC news camera and told us that Moodys, a debt-rating agency which she claims is one of the best in the world, had told her that the Liberal Budget is balanced.

When CBC’s Reality Check investigated, they found that such agencies do not verify balanced budgets. In fact, they discovered that Moodys gives BC a negative credit outlook and blames the province’s recent accumulation of debt under the BC Liberals.

So why would Christy tell us different?

Perhaps she is merely following the example of Gordon Campbell who said, during his election platform, that if elected he would not move BC to the HST.

A few weeks later, we discovered he had already set the process in place some time before he made that promise.
