Having lived a very fulfilling and happy life, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Zdenka, passed away naturally and peacefully at home just shy of her 108th birthday.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Jaroslav (Jerry) in 1990, her parents Luisa and Zdenek Vlcek, her sisters, Hana and Milena, her grandson-in-law, John (Tanya) Collins, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, EVA (Alex) Lypka of Balcarres, Saskatchewan and JANA (Bob) Watt of Campbell River, B.C.; her grandchildren, TANYA Collins of Ottawa, Ontario, NADIA (Darren) Schamber of Saskatoon, Sask., MICHAEL (Julie) Lypka of Kansas City, Kansas, MEAGAN (Rafal) Andronowski of Canmore Alberta, DAVID (Syndey) Hasek-Watt of Campbell River, B.C., and CHRISTOPHER Hasek-Watt of Vancouver, B.C.; her 8 great grandchildren Alexander and Lara Collins, Andrew and Luke Schamber, Alexis and Max Lypka, Sam and Eliza Hasek-Watt, nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
Zdenka had a zest for life, and her adaptability throughout a century of changes was truly inspiring.
A celebration of her life will be held at Jana Watt’s residence at 1100 Merecroft Road on Saturday, August 9th at 3:30 pm. Please join us to remember our darling mom.
