It is with great sorrow that the family of Yvonne Hewett announces the passing of Yvonne on July 8, 2014, after a short battle with cancer.
Yvonne was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to Laurence and Jean Crombie. At 21 years of age, she immigrated to Canada where she met and married Bill. They moved to Campbell River in 1980, with their two boys, Scott and Kevin, built a family home and have enjoyed living here ever since.
Yvonne was the home maker, very meticulous, well organized, and always ready for their sailing adventures in the summers, ski trips in winter and annual vacations. In the past twenty years, being a member at Storey Creek golf club, she became an accomplished golfer, including three holes in ones.
Her favourite time was spent with her three grandchildren; babysitting, playing games, teaching them to knit and going for walks.
Yvonne made many lasting friendships, was cherished by her brothers and sister, her in-laws and was a favourite of her many nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was dearly loved by her husband and sons, and will be sorely missed.
