December 15, 1936 - March 19, 2021
We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of our mom. Yvette was born in Montreal, Quebec, Dec.15,1936 and passed in Campbell River, B.C. March 19, 2021.
She was the daughter of Laura and Jean Fredette and the wife of Gilbert LeBlanc also of Montreal. Yvette and Gil raised their family there later moving them out West in 1974 and working together built a distinctive Quebecois style log home on the Okanagan Lake in Vernon. They moved to Campbell River in 2012.
Yvette will be remembered as a very loving mom and grandmother and GG as well as a faithful friend, you could count on her. Mom enjoyed people, family and friends were everything to her.
She was a woman who had old world values and a strong moral compass. Our mom was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and loved music and dancing. She also took part in musical theatre and choirs. Mom devoured books her entire life.
She was known as being an amazing cook and had a natural, green thumb in the garden, especially her magnificent sweet peas. Mom loved the sun and was a barefoot, bikini woman through the decades. She enjoyed skiing and long walks and picking violets in the woods.
Some words said about mom recently were; "She was kind and caring, very supportive." "She walked this world with a soft footprint." "Yvette was a real lady." "She was loved by all here." "She was a classy lady." "She was a youthful, fun grandma." She taught me how to love. "Mom taught me about what's truly important in life."
Yvette was mother to 4 children, Selina Daur (Phil) - C.R. , Jenny Burke (Ron) -Victoria, Vincent LeBlanc (Beth) -Yahk, Martin LeBlanc (Susan) -Vernon. Grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Charlene (Kyle), Aaron (Lynsey) - C.R. , Kaitlin( Andrew) - Australia, Sunny -C.R., Spring (Morgan) - Invermere, Aubrey - Pt. Alberni, Jonathan, Gabrielle - Calgary. GG to 8 great grandchildren, Lucas, Jack, Luna, India. Corvid, Nova, Tristan and Mikayla.
Our mom Yvette will be sorely missed by a large, extended family and friends in Montreal,Vernon and Campbell River. Mom's friends from Ken and Murray Forde House, Seniors Independent Living grieve her loss and were very kind to us on her passing.
The Year of Covid was a difficult one for mom with deteriorating health and less access to family contact. Now she will be at peace.
Dors bien maman, nous t'aimons beaucoup xxxxoooo
