Willy was born in Cumberland on Sept. 15, 1934 and resided in Courtenay until 1956 when he moved to Campbell River where he was employed at Crown Zellerbach’s Elk Falls mill. He retired in 1994 after 41 years of working there as a pulptester, pipefitter and maintenance foreman.

Willy was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was a great sportsman and over the years he enjoyed playing ball, golfing and target shooting.
