William Thomas Harry EASTON

William Thomas Harry Easton

November 8, 1941-January 8, 2013

It is with sadness that we let you know that Tom has lost his two year struggle with melanoma.   He is survived by his wife of 45 years Carole; daughter Jen (Chris) Boubouras and granddaughters Stephanie and Catherine of Adelaide, Australia; brother Chuck (Sharon) Easton of Campbell River and nephew Rob Easton of Vancouver.

Tom was born in Ocean Falls and grew up in Nanaimo.  After receiving his Chemical Engineering degree at UBC, he worked in paper-making, primarily in Powell River and Campbell River.  After retiring, he became an active volunteer with the Simms Creek Stewards, the City of Campbell River environmental committee, the Maritime Heritage Centre and ElderCollege.  After taking photos to illustrate stream restoration projects, he went on to develop a love for photography and spent many hours perfecting his skills and knowledge.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, and carers who looked after Tom.

A gathering to remember Tom will be held at the Maritime Heritage Centre this Sunday January 13 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation (bccancerfoundation.com).
