April 19, 1921 – July 8, 2009

Warren Kirkland passed away peacefully at home on July 8, 2009 after months of declining health.

Warren was born in Laningan, Saskatchewan to William and Katherine Kirkland, fourth of eight siblings. Warren was pre-deceased by Gesina, his beloved Wife of 54 years and his Grand-daughter Barbara Kirkland.

Left to mourn his passing are his three Sons (Bill (Margaret), Richard (Brian) and A.W. Bud Kirkland; Grandson Bill Kirkland (Debbie); Great Grand-children Amanda, Ervin and Amy; his loving Sisters Vivian (Arthur), Bonnie (Glen) and Sister-in-law Marjorie Kirkland.

Warren is fondly remembered by Sue, her Daughters Alexandra and Carmina and her Brother Roy (Becki), Casey and Finn.

Warren grew up in Saskatchewan and Montana, before moving to British Columbia. In World War II Warren proudly served his Country with the Westminster Regiment in the Mediterranean and European theatres.

Upon returning to Canada he became involved with the trucking and automotive industries, holding Executive positions with the AFL/CIO after which time he began a 20 year career with the Ministry of Transportation in 100 Mile House until retirement in 1986. In 1997 he made his home in Campbell River.

A Celebration of Warren’s Life was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 403 East Columbia Street, New Westminster on July 14th 2009 followed by a Graveside Service in 100 Mile House.
