April 15th, 1924 ~ September 23rd, 2003, passed away peacefully at the Campbell River & District Hospital after a battle with cancer. Walter was born in Jarostaw, Poland.

He was predeceased by his wife Anna, his family in Poland except his youngest brother Frank.

A devoted family man, he leaves behind his children Ellen (Ken), Robert and Dean (Debbie) and the delight of his later years, his grandchildren, Jessica, Kristina, James and Nadine. He also leaves behind his niece, Anna and her son Michael.

Walter came to Canada as a young man and settled down in Uranium City, Sask., where he began his mining career and started his family. In later years he moved to Stewart, BC where he worked for Scotty Gold Mines. After retiring from there he moved to Campbell River to live out his years close to his immediate family. He leaves behind a mining community, family and friends who will miss him.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Parish, 34 S. Alder St., on Monday, September 29th, 2003 at 11:00am. Interment will follow service at the Elk Falls Cemetery.
