MAY,

Verna Lee (Dolliver)

July 7, 1939 ~ Dec. 5, 2007

After a lengthy and well fought out battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Verna succumbed peacefully to her illness on Dec. 5, 2007 in hospital surrounded by family.

Verna was born and spent her early childhood in South Brookfield, Nova Scotia, before moving to Toronto, where she met the love of her life, Jim May.

Together they raised 8 children while running a trucking business. After the business was sold, Verna and Jim moved out of the city to Seaforth, Ontario where Verna worked hard for over 10 years at Genesco Shoe Factory. Together the two retired to Campbell River where Verna enjoyed watching the deer in her garden & relaxing on her many camping trips. She loved too, her Salvation Army Church.

Verna will be sadly missed by her loving husband Jim May, daughters: Judy, Wendy, Deborah, Rose & Brenda and by sons: Jody, Peter & Ron and by 26 Grandchildren & 10 Great Grandchildren.

Celebration of Life for Verna will be at Ocean Crest Community Church (Salvation Army) on Saturday Dec. 8th at 11am. Tea to follow upstairs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Campbell River Salvation Army.

Thanks to Dr. Arnold & the loving & tender staff at the Campbell River Hospital.
