Vera Bernice

Born January 20, 1931 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan passed away October 22, 2005 in Campbell River Hospital surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer, borne with great dignity. She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Enid and sister, Mary.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her devoted husband and soulmate, George, sister, Laura, daughters: Penny (Bob), Sherry (Ed), and Linda (Phil), step-daughter, Jackie (Al); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A former Brownie and Guide Leader and a charter member of Altrusa, Vera was a vibrant person who was devoted to her family. she was a ray of sunshine who lit up every room she entered.

Heartfelt thanks to Doctor McFadden and the many caregivers who provided loving care for Vera.

Special thanks to her numerous friends who comforted Vera and her family throughout this difficult time.

A Celebration of Vera’s life will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2005 at 2:00p.m. at the Navy League Hall, 911-13th Ave., Campbell River. Reception immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Yukon Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
