Valerie passed away peacefully early July 31st at The Gardens in Qualicum
Beach at the age of 93. Valerie was predeceased by husband Gerald, mother and father Leah (Bertha) and George Dowding. She is survived by daughters
Patricia, Colleen (Jim), son Norman, grandchildren Brad, Janet, Meagan, Sean, Jennifer and Christine, great grandchildren Kassidy, Madison, Taylor, Kira, Mackenzie, and great great-grandchild Isabella.
Valerie enjoyed bowling, bingo, cooking, golf, gardening, cribbage and spending time with her family. She was a veteran of WW2 where she served as a cook till wars end. Valerie was also a lifelong Legion member where she volunteered for many Legion functions, as well as for numerous other charities.
A Celebration of Life will follow in the near future and will be announced then. In lieu of flower, the family invites you to donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in her name.
