Thomas Martin Bevington died April 15, 2020 at Campbell River Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 17, 1943 in Toronto Ontario, Tom was raised by his parents Thomas and Gwendolyn Bevington, with his siblings Eleanor, Gloria and Douglas. He attended public school and graduated from Richview Collegiate Institute in 1962.
In June 1963, he married Naome Soleil (nee Ruth Lawrie) and they had two children, Heidi and Patrick. In August of that year, they moved to Vancouver so that Tom could attend UBC.
Tom met and married Joan (nee Houghton-Brown) in Campbell River and they had two children, Rachel and Noel. Tom's work took the family to Cortes Island in 1979. Tom and Joan spent time on Cortes, Quadra and Campbell River, while Tom worked for Raven Lumber as log scaler.
Tom is survived and greatly missed by his wife, siblings, children and grandchildren, Graham, Blythe, Arden, Saraphina, Montgomery and Tate, as well as his many nieces, nephews and family friends.
