Thomas Douglas Jamieson

April 17, 2013

On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, Thomas Douglas Jamieson passed away peacefully with his daughter, Penny, holding his hand. He was 94 years of age.

Tom is lovingly remembered by his daughter Penny (Roger) and grandsons, Craig and Ryan Gosselin; and his relatives and friends near and far.

Tom had an incredible life. He was blessed to have his wife, Fay, bound around the world with him in his younger Air Force days. In retirement they settled in their favourite city, Vancouver. As soulmates they always believed they had the best life could offer with each other.

When Fay passed away 9 years ago, Tom moved to The Berwick in Comox to be close to Penny and Roger, who loved him dearly. At The Berwick Tom met Joan Duncan who became his charming companion adding joy to his life.

When you think of Tom hold dear, “the most beautiful times of our lives can never be lost, for they live in our hearts and are relived in our memories.” Please take a moment to share good memories and give a toast to a true gentleman.

In accordance with Tom’s wishes there will not be a formal service. The family will have a private gathering to place Tom’s ashes with his beloved Fay.

Tom’s family would like to extend appreciation and heartfelt thanks for compassionate care to Dr. Howard and the third floor nursing staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox. Tom believed that Dr. Howard was the best doctor ever. His family also wishes to thank Beth Haynes who walked beside them the final few days.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Tom’s memory can be made to Alzheimer Society British Columbia, Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), or a charity of your choice.
