Thelma Hagensen

April 10, 1915 – April 18, 2010

Thelma Hagensen passed away peacefully at Campbell River and District Hospital at 2am on April 18, 2010.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard (1997), father Ole Nygaard (1949), mother Sophie (1939), brothers Olaf (1926), John (1927), Alger (1933), Melvin (1980), and sister Olivia (1998). She is survived by her sister Helen, children Richard (Joanne), Doris (Gary), grandchildren Carrie (Chris), Angela (Chris), Tami, Harry (Melia), Hyacinth (Rae-Anne), as well as 4 great-grandchildren, Webb, Hailex, Christopher and Rachel.

Thelma was born in Hagensborg, BC and moved to Campbell River in 1942. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing piano, collecting, baking, rock n’ roll music and her family.

She had a great sense of humour, quirky style, and was a very strong independent woman living in her home right until her passing.

We will always remember the fun Wednesday lunches and Norwegian coffee time at her home.

She was very young at heart and still enjoyed going to the Quinnie to hear her son perform.

Special thanks to her home care support, CRDH staff & Dr. Arnold for their excellent care of Thelma & support for our family.

An open house will be held May 8, 2010 at 550 Thulin Street from 2pm – 4pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Campbell River Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
