Teresa Lynn Hass
December 13, 1948 to July 29, 2011
Our dear Teresa has passed away with family and friends at her side on July 29, 2011.
Teresa was born in Comox in 1948. She spent most of her school years in the lower mainland and, in 1968, moved to Campbell River where she had her two children, Stacy and Steven. She then set off on many adventures in BC and around the world before returning to Campbell River in 1987 to share her life with her husband, Wilf. Over the past 24 years, Campbell River has become Teresa’s home. She has shared her life and her love with her family and many friends from the Dinner Club, the Happy Hour, the school board and many more.
Teresa always approached life with a spirit of giving and gratitude. She was thankful for every experience: the sight of a new bloom in her beautiful garden, finding just the right ingredient for a gourmet meal, connecting with one of her grandchildren, or sharing the gift of time with a friend. She was even thankful for times that many would have found difficult. She was able to find the positive in everything and was truly someone for whom the glass was half full.
Throughout her journey with Cancer, Teresa has been so well cared for by many health professionals who have provided compassion, wisdom, and guidance. Her family would like to express appreciation to all who have contributed to her care.
To express her appreciation and to make her own contribution, Teresa implemented the Gratitude project this spring. Her goal was to raise money for educational opportunities and funding to support the Oncology Clinic at the Campbell River Hospital. We would love to continue to work on this project in her honour. A memorial service to celebrate Teresa’s life, will be held at 1:00 pm on August 26, 2011 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 228 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River. We welcome you to join us.
