It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stewart Gibson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Stewart was predeceased by his parents Francis and Evelyn, and brothers Lyle, John and Francis. Stewart leaves behind his wife Susan, daughter Kyla (Doug), son Stewart (Monica), grandsons Troy (Jessica) and Tyce, and granddaughters Natasha (Eli), Katrina and Taya.
Stewart was born in Campbell River BC and grew up in Englewood on northern Vancouver Island. Following his schooling in Vancouver, he returned to the area to start his career and raise a family of his own. He was very hard working and committed throughout his 40+ yr service with Canfor before retiring as master mechanic for the Englewood Division.
Stewart was an avid fisherman in the summer months and cherished his winter retreats to Hawaii with his good friends. Stewart was a tireless worker who could be found landscaping his beautiful garden yard alongside wife Susan or lending a hand to his children.
He was known as Bumpa to his grandchildren and relished his family gatherings on occasions. He was a warm soul who always had a smile for others and was an inspiration for the grace in which he faced personal challenges.
Stewart will be forever remembered. Donations to Parkinson Canada would be appreciated.
