September 28, 1929-October 15, 2015
It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our dear mama, Stella (Stasia) Janicki. She was an extraordinary woman, with a strong will to live. Mama passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October, 15, 2015 at 10:15a.m. She was born Stanislawa Fraczek in Pomorzanka, Poland on September 28, 1929.
Her life’s journey shaped her to be a hard worker, with a strong work ethic. Mom exuded a spirited charm, was clever, creative, compassionate and funny (wink, wink). We will miss her beautiful smile, her delicious food and her open arms that were always ready to give and receive those strong reassuring hugs. Mama was always positive, lived and loved BIG. She believed in giving the gifts of love and time and loved all equally. Mom drew great purpose in being a mother, babcia (grandmother), great-grandmother, sister, auntie, member of church, friend and neighbor. Mom played no favourites; she always said, “I love you all.” Mama enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, knitting and in her later years, took great pleasure in her flower garden.
She is predeceased by her daughter Barbara Heuvelman (2003) and husband, Edward Janicki (2010). She leaves behind to remember with deepest love and gratitude, her children Michael (Sylvia), Mary (Peter), Chris (Sheila), Bob (Martine), Lucy (Gord), Christine (Kevin), Greg (Coleen) and Jennie, plus her 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the excellent care she received at the Campbell River hospital with special thanks you the 3rd floor nursing staff, Dr. Coetzee and Dr. James.
A funeral mass and celebration of her life will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 34 South Alder St. , Campbell River on Friday, October 23 at 11:000a.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall.
I lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted in Stella’s name to any of the Catholic Woman’s League charities or the Canadian Cancer Society.
