In loving memory ~
On the morning of November 15,2024 Mom passed away peacefully in the Campbell River General Hospital. The sun glimmered on the ocean, the whales breached and played, and the room was filled with love for her and from her to her family. Mom suffered a stroke on November 13,2024 and never recovered from it.
Shirley leaves behind her husband of 65 years Bernie Walker, sons Bob and Don, daughter Debbie Cathey (Greg) and her grandchildren Jessica, Katie (Greg), Adam (Mary), Andrew and Danny. Her two very special great-granddaughters Kacey and Lexie.
Mom was the glue that kept our family together. Anytime we had a problem, or something went wrong we all called on Grandma Shirley to help us. She never yelled at us, but we always knew by the look she gave us if she was mad (this was not very often). Everyone that knew Mom held a special place in her heart. Mom's niece Sandra Karason (Johann) for always helping whenever Auntie Shirl called, you both hold very special places in her heart.
Debbie wishes to thank Auntie Elthea and Maureen Yeo for all their support during this most difficult time. Both of you meant the world to Mom.
Mom, I miss our nightly 7pm phone calls but I know you are watching over all of us and will guide us in the right direction.
