June 24, 1931 - July 4, 2018
Passed away peacefully at Yucalta Lodge. Born in La Glace, Alberta Selma was one of seven siblings. Selma's family moved to Black Creek in 1936 integrating into the local Mennonite Community. Moved to Courtenay in 1951 after her marriage to John they then moved to Campbell River in 1967.

She became a resident of Yucalta Lodge in 2004 where she received excellent care and attention. She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her husband John of 67 years, her children Rick (Billie), Bruce (Trish), David (Robin) and Sandra (Doug), seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Predeceased by her son Keith (Kathy). Before her stroke in 2003 Selma enjoyed many activities, badminton, golfing, and camping, she maintained a large house and garden, loved to travel, spend time with her family when ever possible, she was also a long-time member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles (Ladies Auxiliary).

A small private gathering to celebrate Selma's life was held at Yucalta Lodge Sat July 7. The family would wholeheartedly like to thank all the staff at Yucalta and in particular the staff in Woodlands Cottage, as well as Dr Sutherland for his continued and compassionate support.
