Sara Gunhild
Born October 20, 1908 in Norrflarke, Sweden, passed away suddenly in Powell River on July 12, 2003. Sara was predeceased by her husband Helge and her daughter Ann. She is survived by her daughter Nora Flensburg (Tom), her son-in-law Neil Gustafson, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sara grew glorious gardens around her homes on the bank of the Campbell River and on the hillside overlooking Lund harbour. She had an eye for beauty and worked hard to fill her world with plants and flowers. She will be fondly remembered and deeply admired for her courage, her generosity and her many creative talents.
A very special thank you to Dr. Thomas McBride and the excellent nurses and support people at the Evergreen Extended Care Unit who helped make Sara’s last years as pleasant as possible. Your patience and kindness will not be forgotten. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Powell River General Hospital Foundation.
