Sandra passed away at the age of 67 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind to mourn; her life partner Tom; her daughter-in-law Sandy (Dominic); her honorary grandchildren Bea, Ben and Bailey, best friend Sandra and so many caring friends and family members.

Sandra was born in Central Patricia, Ontario, to parents Emily and Douglas Laird. She was tough and courageous from the get-go and would tell amazing stories of her first years of life. Sandra lived for many years with Tom in Poulton Bay, managing the remote and rugged lifestyle of boats, storms, limited electricity, heavy work and all things related, with grace and determination. She had a huge home-cooked meal and drinks for all who stopped by to wait out the tide or the storm. In her Campbell River years, she worked for many, many years at the United Furniture Warehouse and later the Brick. Her co-workers there were some of her closest friends. Sandra was also a dedicated member of the Campbell River Hospital Auxiliary and put in countless hours of volunteer work, again forming valuable friendships with those who crossed her path. She will be so terribly missed by many in the Campbell River community and beyond.

Sandra’s family and close friends will have small gathering to honour her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Campbell River Hospital Auxiliary Society are greatly appreciated.

In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place no one can ever fill.

(Love Always From Tom)
