We sadly announce that Ruth passed away on September 24, 2003 at Dwelling Place in Nanaimo, B.C. after a long fight with Alzheimers. Ruth is predeceased by her husband Edward in 1989 and two sisters. She will be remembered by her children; Elizabeth Harding (Howard) and Gregory Flower (Odette), grandchildren; Stewart, Cynthia, Jayaya, Jordon and Jaryn; nieces and nephew; sister-in-law, Joan Flower and friends. Ruth was born in Trail, B.C. in 1915 where she spent her childhood in Roberts Creek, B.C. She went to Normal School in Vancouver where she became a school teacher, holding posts in Kingcome Inlet, Invermere and Kelowna. She married and later became interested in water colour and oil painting, pottery and weaving, which she freely taught and helped anyone interested. She loved classical music, travel and gardening. Thanks to Dr. Keith Phillips, Dennis Ano, and workers at Dwelling Place for their kindness and understanding. A Private Memorial Service was s held, with Interment at Elk Falls Memorial Cemetery. ISLAND FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, GEORGIA QUAY, 103-909 ISLAND HIGHWAY, CAMPBELL RIVER in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers please make donations to UBC Alzheimers Research, Attn.
