Ruth spent her childhood in Wilkie, Saskatchewan. She was the youngest of nine children. During WWII she lived in Ocean Falls where she worked in the Sawmill. They lived in Port Alberni where Tom worked on road construction. They later moved to Campbell River, where Tom worked on the John Hart Dam, at the Argonaut Mine and at the Elk Falls Mill. Ruth and Tom enjoyed many Summers of camping and fishing at Loveland Lake and Winters in Hemet, California. She worked as a volunteer for more than 30 years at the Hospital Thrift Shop. Ruth was an avid gardener, an accomplished seamstress, knitter, a reader and a wonderful cook. She loved to bake for her friends and family and we loved her for it.
