Roy was a former member of C.R. Lions Club and past president (some years ago). As a young man Roy worked with his father in masonry and eventually became an instructor in masonry at a branch of the Kingston Penitentiary in Ont. He then moved to the West Coast in the early 1960’s, continued masonry in Victoria, eventually settled in C.R. and continued his masonry business for several years. In 1981 he decided to pursue his longtime interest in woodwork, started a cabinet shop and ran until his retirement in 1995. Roy was a kind, gentle man with a wonderful sense of humour and a great love for all creatures great and small.
A private family internment will take place at the “Serenity Walkway Scattering Garden”, Elk Falls Crematorium, followed by a gathering of family and friends in Celebration of Roy’s Life on Friday, March 4th, 2005 from 2 to 4p.m. at the Elk Falls Memorial Chapel, Elk Falls Cemetery, Highway #28 at General Hill.
