chernishenko,
Roy Edward
It is with great sadness and deep honor that we say
goodbye to
Roy Edward Chernishenko
Roy’s life journey started in Saskatchewan in 1944, it took him to Ocean Falls, BC as a youth then to Cranbrook BC, where he met his best friend and lifelong companion of 34 years, Marlene. They were inseperable and enjoyed every aspect of life together. The last 26 years were spent in Port Hardy, where they experienced many happy hours exploring the willd west coast in their boat, bringing back lots of stories and keeping our freezers full of the oceans bounty.
Roy bravely faced his fate, and with dignity and his much loved sense of humor, left us on the morning of Oct. 28, 2004 to begin the rest of his journey ahead.
He leaves behind his loving parents Anne & Wally Chernishenko, sister Debbie, brother in law Steve, niece Stacie-Rae, and the love of his life - Marlene.
No service by request, only happy memories.
My brother’s eyes
I seen two stars up in the skies
I knew it was my brother’s eyes.
How do I get up to the sky
Just to have one more goodbye
I can’t, I know, I’m still here
But my big brother,
will always be near.
He said, I will rest here
‘cause I’m fatiqued
And when you get here
You can follow my lead.
We will chase all the rainbows
We will run in the rain.
Because where we will be
There will never be pain.
I know that he’s up there to stay
To watch and guide
and light my way.
I Love you Roy
Dyborsha!
