Roy Breitenbach,

March 27, 1922- November 24, 2012

Roy, sadly, was taken from us on November 24, 2012 after a long struggle with bone cancer. He is the last one of his family to go having been pre-deceased by parents Emily and John Breitenbach, brother Eric and two sisters Joan (Stan) Beech, Pat (Rusty) Beech, and nephew Percy Beech (Loraine). Roy is survived by his loving wife Sheila of 64 years, his son Michael and two grandchildren Sarah and Eric. Also nephews Wayne, Kevin and John Beech plus many great-nephews and nieces.

Roy moved from Vancouver, where he was born, to Gowlland Harbor, Quadra Island with his family in 1936 at 14 years of age. Roy did not stay around long leaving at age16 to find work anywhere he could. He eventually returned to Quadra Island with Sheila and Michael in 1957 and resided there for 18 years.

Roy spent his working life as a long-haul trucker, logging on the coast and as a fisherman 1958-1979; his last boat being the "Pacific Reefer", one of the first fiberglass Vic Goddrup design built at Shearwater B.C.

Roy and his wife also spent 15 happy retirement years in the Interior on the banks of the Kettle River at Rock Creek, B.C.

No service by Roy's request.

Please make a donation in Roy's name to the B.C. Cancer Society Campbell River Branch or the CR SPCA if you wish.
