August 11, 1953 - September 24, 2020
Ross Hollinger, born August 11, 1953, passed away at the Campbell River Hospital September 24, 2020 after a brief fight with cancer.
Ross was survived by his sons, Joshua and Anthony, and daughter in-law Megan. Ross also had 3 grandchildren - Bentley, Ripley and Emily.
Ross was a commercial fisherman for a few years then changed occupations and obtained his Bachelor of Science (in Metallurgy) and his Professional Engineer designation. He then worked in the mining industry (predominately underground) for the remainder of his career in Canada, the US, Africa, and Venezuela, with a dedication, focus and intellect unlike many others.
Ross most enjoyed spending time with his family, a lover of any body of water that had fish in it (or the possibility of fish!), and the frustrating game of golf.
Ross is also survived by his sisters Jean Dresen and Betty Klatt, and his nieces and nephew Paula, Rosie and Brian Klatt.
Ross' passing leaves am unfillable void in the Hollinger family and he will be deeply missed.
