August 14, 1930 - October 16, 2021
Ron, a resident of Campbell River since 1986 passed peacefully with his family at his side at Evergreen Seniors Home October 16, 2021. He was born in Hafford Sask. on August 14, 1930.
He married Margaret (nee Trask) 68 years ago in Meadow Lake, Sask.
Ron spent 40 of his 91 years as a banker, living in 10 locations and 3 provinces. He also served 10 years as a member of the Board of Directors at Yucalta Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife Marg, son Mark (Linda), daughter Ronda (Heather), Grandchildren David (Robyn), Rob, Deanna (Erich), 5 Great Grandchildren, Emily, Colton, Aeva, Dylan and Bowen, his sister Marlene, niece Jody, nephews Donald and Kollin and their families and several cousins.
Ron was active in the Anglican Church, a Rotarian for 65 years and always involved in helping the community. He was a skilled woodworker, enjoyed gardening and loved dogs.
Ron was a kind gentle man and loved nothing more than making people laugh. His favourite day of the year was April Fools Day.
The family is forever grateful for the support and loving care he received from the entire Palliative Care Team at Evergreen Seniors Home, which would not have been possible without the support of The Hospice Society.
He touched so many lives and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends and will remain forever in out hearts.
For those wishing to honour Ron's memory with a donation, consideration of the Campbell River Hospice Society would be appreciated. Celebration of Life arrangements are pending.
