KLUS,

Rona Lillian (Exley)

December 6th, 1923 -

October 7th 2007

Rona will be sadly missed by her sons, Allan (Laurel) of Campbell River BC and Barry (Rosemary) of North Bay ON, grandchildren Ryan, Mitchell and Becca, extended family Trisha and Mitchell, and her great friend and companion Norman (Chip) Chapman. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Gladys Exley, and her brother Earle Exley.

Rona was born in Montreal QC and moved with her family to Amherst NS at the age of 10. She was educated at the Cumberland County Academy. During wartime, she worked for the Canadian Car & Foundry assembling airplanes. After the war, Rona moved to Montreal where she became an RN; she married and raised her two wonderful sons. For a short time, the family lived in Vancouver BC, returning to Ontario (North Bay) where she became a very successful realtor. Rona retired in 1992 and moved west to Qualicum Beach BC in 1999.

Rona’s interests included singing with the Baytones in North Bay ON, golf, gardening (her daffodils were renowned) and time spent with family and friends. She always had a smile and a compassionate ear for anyone and everyone.

A small graveside service

will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Salvation Army

(886 Wembley Road, Box 1874, Parksville BC V9P 2H6).
