November 13, 1950 - November 11, 2015
Roderic Wallace Fairweather, 64, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 11th, in Campbell River Hospital. Rod was born November 13, 1950 in Victoria, BC to Elsie and Tom Fairweather, with sisters Pam Thomson, Jackie (Finn) Madsen, and Jill Saunders.
Growing up in Powell River, Rod was a very active boy, participating in various sports and community activities including Sea Cadets, hockey and band. Moving to Campbell River, Rod married Debbie Snow and together they raised children Kyle, Cameron and Connor. A BCIT graduate, Roderic owned and operated North Island Chrome for the better part of 18 years. Rod enjoyed running and he loved to play squash, hockey and baseball. He was involved endlessly in the community with Minor Hockey, Cubs and Scouts, Summer Swim Club, and was a diligent donor to various charities. Rod was a caring friend to many; he loved to laugh and make others happy. He will be missed eternally.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Rod on May 14, 2016 from 12:00-3:00pm at the Maritime Heritage Centre.
