December 13, 2006

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of longtime Sayward BC resident Roberta (Bobbi) Toft who passed away December 13, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her father, James (Jim) Scott, mother Laura Forsyth and brother Vernon Scott.

She is survived by her loving husband Jack C. Toft (now of Campbell River) who will miss her greatly. Also survived by her daughters: Laureen (Werner) Zech, Michelle (Alan) McPherson and sons: James (Cathy) Bilodeau, Michel (Rhonda) Bilodeau and grandchildren: Erica, Ryan, Jason, Logann, Colby, Joseph, Amanda, Matthew & Timothy. Her brothers Lorne (Laura) Scott, Marvin (Silvi) Forsyth, Leonard (Peggy) Forsyth, Lyle (Bonnie) Forsyth.

Born in Smeaton Sask. she moved to Prince Rupert BC at a young age and then on to Princeton BC at the end of the war. When her mother and father divorced she became a “ward” of the courts and went to live with a family in Winfield BC. Going back to Sask. in her teenage years where she met Mike Bilodeau who followed her back to Princeton BC where they married and moved to Sask. After 4 children they divorced and visiting her brother in Sayward BC she met Jack Toft. They were married (she for the second time, his first) and it was a lasting union.

Her husband became a quadriplegic 15 years ago and she became his fulltime caregiver until cancer took its toll and forced them to move into Campbell River, BC where they could both receive the care that was required.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and a service of remembrance will be held in Sayward on January 13, 2007 at the Community Hall conducted by pastor Mark Johnson. She requested that she be cremated and Suttons Funeral Home (250-287-4812) is looking after these arrangements and will willingly give advice in regards to the service.
