February 27, 1932 - October 18, 2015

Bob was born in Kamloops B.C. February 27, 1932. His father was a Norwegian Immigrant from Nordfjiord Norway whose name was Anglicized from Ragnvald Bugjerde to Robert Sivertson upon entry to Canada. His mother Leila Kimmel was born in Sullivan County, Illinois, USA. Bob had two older siblings, twin sisters Dorthea (Harris) and Doreen (Cherris).

“I tried my best but failed much. I became a Chartered Accountant but found my true source of happiness in life was through creativity. I enjoyed painting very much. I also was a talented amateur gardener and a damned good cook.

The best time of my life was during the years I spent on Quadra Island from 1987 to 1999. I built a cabin there and allowed my hair to go uncut. Freedom, Wow. I will rise and go now and go to Innisfree. The Lake Isle. My place. My world.

The following ten years were spent with my wonderful wife Vera in Oceanside and Victoria. Even after losing Vera and the life we had together of travel and sharing, the good times continued. I died of Emphysema brought on by 47 years of smoking. But I had good times, undeservedly wonderful times and a good finish thanks to management, staff and many good friends at Somerset House and Berwick by the Sea. Thank you everyone.”

Bob was 83 years old and was predeceased by his father, mother and sister Doreen. He is survived by his sister Dorthea, son Bob (Teresa), son Greg (Annamarie); grandchildren Joshua, Caitlyn and Jeremiah, daughter Susan and his many caring nieces, nephews and their families. He will be missed.
