June 14, 2018
Robert Drew Talling, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family after an incredibly brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 46 years, Lyn, as well as his daughter and fishing companion Tamara, her husband Mark, and his son and hunting partner Dave.

He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his grandchildren, Julianna, Justin and Summur, as well as many friends and extended family members.

Drew was born and raised in Vancouver BC, graduated from highschool in 1967 and joined Scotiabank in 1970 where he spent his working career in various branches around the province. After 32 years, he ultimately retired from Scotiabank in Duncan. In 2011, Drew and Lyn relocated to Campbell River to be close to their family.

Drew enjoyed good food, great friends, and bad scotch (sorry dad!). He was very passionate about hunting and fishing and made many memories with his son and grandson hunting ducks, deer, and elk on their 3 generation hunts.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the palliative care team, Dr. Pete Friderichs and Dr. Tanja Daws for their compassion and assistance in supporting Drew's wish to die with dignity in the face of his courageous battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when the family can all be together. If so desired, donations in Drew's memory can be made to Canucks Place at canucksplace.org.
